Jonathan Emeruwa
Jonathan Emeruwa is an experimental composer, music preservation archivist, mental health counsellor and sound engineer for the Ambientscape Project. He is an avid record collector particularly of ethnographic field recordings, African, indigenous and world music, as well as European wax cylinders. As a composer he is influenced by sacred, shamanic and folkloric songs and is also a research fellow with the British Library where his area of interest is the music of Black Spirituals, 'Melodic arrangement and its effect on memory for the healing of past trauma, separation and loss.' He has studied at both The Tavistock Clinic and The University of East London and works with the Children’s Mental Health Charity, Place2Be.
